A landing page does not sell because it has many polished phrases. It sells when a person quickly understands what you offer, who it is for, what problem it solves and what they should do next. For an SME this matters a lot, because the advertising budget is usually tight and every visit counts.
The problem is that many pages sound the same. They promise innovative solutions, personal service and professional results, but they do not say anything concrete. The same can happen with AI: it can help organise ideas, but used without judgement it leaves correct, long and generic copy.
The copy must answer real questions
Before writing, it helps to think about the questions the customer brings. What is included. How long it takes. What happens after they ask for information. Whether there are examples. Whether the price is fixed or depends on the case. Whether the company works locally or remotely.
A good landing page is not a brochure. It is a short conversation with someone who is comparing options. That is why the copy should remove friction. Phrases such as we call you to review your case and tell you whether it makes sense before quoting build more trust than a huge promise with no context.
Fewer adjectives, more proof
Saying that a service is fast, close or effective is not enough. It is better to show how it works. For example: “we reply in less than 24 hours”, “we review your current website before suggesting changes” or “we set up the form, WhatsApp and conversion tracking”. Simple details help the visitor imagine the result.
It also helps to use words the customer would use. If a hair salon wants more bookings, it does not need to read about omnichannel strategies. It needs to know how the page will get more people to book from their phone.
How to use AI without making the copy sound like AI
AI can help produce headline options, summarise benefits or detect missing doubts. The important work comes afterwards: cutting inflated phrases, adding real examples, replacing words that sound too perfect and checking whether the page sounds like the business speaks to its customers.
A good method is to write the structure first: problem, solution, what is included, why trust the company, frequently asked questions and call to action. Then AI can help improve clarity, not fill the page with big phrases. If a sentence could fit any business, it usually does not belong on the page.
The call to action should be specific
“Contact us” works better when it comes with a clear expectation. What the person will receive. When. For what purpose. A call to action such as “Tell us which service you want to sell and we will review what copy your landing page needs” reduces doubt and makes the next step feel simple.
It also helps to repeat the action in several points on the page, without chasing the user. At the top for someone already decided, in the middle after explaining the value and at the end for someone who needs to read everything before writing.
The goal is clarity, not sounding clever
A landing page for an SME should sell without feeling forced. That comes from specific messages, familiar examples, less filler and an offer that is easy to understand. AI can speed up the process, but the difference is adapting the copy to the real business and to its customers' doubts.
